Many questions in the minds of people are, does God exist? Does God answer prayer? These questions more often pop up when we are faced with challenges that keep us thinking. Different religions have different beliefs while some have in no doubt been able to prove beyond human understanding the existence of God and some still wallow in doubts.
I joined CLUBHOUSE ADIO APP some months ago. On the streets of the audio app, there are several clubs with aims and objectives. Most people believe that the audio app has been able to impact the lives of millions of people all over the world through the various clubs allowed to be created by various users in the app. One of the most impacting clubs on the app is IMPACT STREET. While asking questions from one of the moderators, I was made to know that the club (IMPACT STREET) is a safe space for Christians to share issues of faith. The purpose of the club is to help in building up the faith of Christians as instructed in the book of Hebrew 10:25, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the day approaching” – King James version. The members declared a 21days fasting and prayer as instructed by God. On one of the days, a session was anchored where everyone was asked to seek God’s face for something. A brother did tender his heart desire before God. Little did he know that the next day was already planned for him to experience sorrow in his family. He went ahead to share a testimony with other members of the club.
I asked God for something. Unknowingly to me, God was busy attending to something else. I was at my place of work when my wife called me to come to the hospital where my little kid of two years of age fell from a three-story building. Immediately, fear overwhelmed me. All that came into my mind was, my son is gone. But as a man, I had to summon courage. I went to the hospital. Getting there, I saw my little boy sitting down as if nothing had happened. Immediately, I got confused. Probably, I was in the wrong hospital. After a few seconds, I drew closer, saw my wife with smiles on her face, she stared at me, I went to the doctor and then he told me that, the management had carried out some scan on my boy and NOTHING is wrong with him. He went ahead to tell me, we can go home.
You might think this is just a normal thing. The shocking part is, this little boy fell with his head on the ground. I am not sure anyone in his age would have survived the internal injury this little boy was supposed to experience. I went ahead to inquire from a doctor about the case of this lad. The medical practitioner explained to me that, the height of the fall is not supposed to be accommodated by the deadly experience the boy should have had. This means the little boy is NOT SUPPOSED TO LIVE WITHOUT ANY INTERNAL INJURY. This is and can only be GOD AT WORK.
The question that begs my mind is, what IF he hadn’t prayed before the incident? Would this have happened? Why didn’t God allow this fall to pass him by? Here is what I believe, the book of 1Corinthians 1:27a tells us that, God uses the foolish, senseless, unimaginable things of this world………. there are myriad ways that God proves his existence to mankind.
If you go through stuff and you feel God does not exist, my friend, I need you to know that He sure does. Thus, whatever you believe in, surely works BUT that does not make it right. God is still in the business of giving answers to prayers. All He needs from you is TO BELIEVE. John 11:40 gives us a pointer about Jesus telling Martha, the sister to Lazarus saying, “if you would believe…….” Mark 11:24 also gives an insight to the key of receiving which is BELIEVING AFTER PRAYING. This connotes that a lot of us do not receive because we do not believe. The question would be, HOW DO I BELIEVE? This is another topic for another day.
